Born in Swindon, in 1952 Penny always loved drawing and painting. When she moved to Dorset in the 60’s Penny loved to take her sketchbook out around the Purbecks and by the sea. She took various courses to develop her skills and became qualified in many subjects, illustration and fine art then onto Southampton for a Fine Arts degree course.
Penny loves painting many subjects, in various mediums. Her experience has developed over the years and she has been a most popular tutor in Art for over 25 years. She also demonstrates for Art groups in the South of England and is a regular tutor on Cunard cruises.
The commercial work has always been exciting for Penny, Sunseeker and FJB hotels have many of her paintings, large canvases or smaller paintings are no problem for her. She often meets interior designers to discuss their paintings and will produce a small image to see ideas of colour and composition.
Always influenced by her surroundings, Penny works from sketches to develop ideas from seascapes or figurative work for her large colourful paintings or also producing some very interesting pieces with texture or an Abstract.
Penny’s paintings are collected worldwide, she regularly exhibits in the Dorset and has had work in the RI and at Bath as well as many exhibitions locally with Pedas and Bournemouth Arts club.
